EVERY SERVICE IS A SPECIAL INVITATION BY GOD
My thoughts about worship changed
when one day in our Sunday morning service God vividly drew my attention to this
solid truth that each time we are in His presence, it is a special invitation
by Him for us to reverence Him. We must regard such opportunities as a special
time with Him in the throne room with our focus on him and our being with Him.
Just imagine for moment, God giving
you an invitation to come up to heaven for a five minutes worship service. What
will be your reaction? How well will you prepare for it? How eager will you be
to join the innumerable company of the righteous, the general assembly and the
church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven . . . (Heb. 12:22-24), to
a time of awesome, inspiring, overflowing worship.
We miss a lot when we approach
church services and worship opportunities so casually. If you know who has
invited you, you will honour him with your best in all ramifications. Every
time you appear in Zion for a service, your behavior, your comportment, your
participation and involvement must be
more intense, more sincere, more devoted because you are honouring a special
invitation from God himself. Come at your best and offer him you’re highest,
your uttermost, your very excellent worship. God’s call for you is to approach
the throne of Grace with confidence, so that you may receive mercy and find
grace to help you in the time of your need (Heb. 4:16). Beyond the veil, we
will find Him waiting for a deep spiritual intimacy with us to fill our desperate
longings as we minister before an audience of One.
Beloved, let me urge you to change
your mentality about your coming into the presence of the Lord. Each time you
come. You are simply honouring a special invitation by God Himself. So come at
your best, offering your all to your God, the mighty one (Isa. 33:21), the rock
of our salvation(Psa. 95:1), our Shepherd (Psa. 23:1) the bread of life (John
6:48), The gate (John 10:7,9), the radiance of God’s glory (Heb. 1:3), our
friend (Jer. 3:4), the wonderful counselor (Isa. 9:6).
If you have a deep need and an
inner thirst for a relationship with the Lord, then answer His call to the
inner room for a worship service before the throne of grace. Approach every
meeting with a deep conviction that you are honouring an invitation for a time of
spiritual intimacy with the Lord and you will always go away from there richly
overjoyed and blessed.
